What Our Junk Removal Service Covers

You point to what goes, and our crew does the lifting, loading, and hauling from wherever the items sit in the house or yard.

Furniture Removal for Sofas, Dressers and Heavy Pieces

Furniture removal covers sofas, sectionals, recliners, dressers, bed frames, dining sets, and exercise equipment. Our movers handle pianos and gun safes on regular moving jobs, so a sleeper sofa on a narrow basement staircase is familiar work. When a piece won’t fit through a doorway, we take it apart first and list that disassembly on your quote.

Appliance Removal and Responsible Disposal

Appliance removal covers refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, stoves, dishwashers, and window air conditioners. Minnesota and Wisconsin both bar major appliances from landfills, and refrigerators, freezers, and AC units hold refrigerant that must be recovered before the metal is scrapped. The appliances we haul go to recycling, not the regular trash.

Household Junk Removal Room by Room

Household junk removal covers the smaller things that fill closets, attics, and spare rooms, such as bagged clutter, broken toys, lamps, rugs, and boxes of unused items. Point out anything that stays, and the crew leaves it alone.

Garage and Basement Cleanouts

A garage cleanout or basement cleanout usually mixes every category at once, from old furniture and a spare freezer to yard tools, scrap lumber, and years of stored boxes. Basements add stairs and tight turns, which is exactly where a moving crew’s carrying experience pays off. Sort what stays before we arrive, and we load the rest. Pieces you want to keep but can’t fit anywhere can move into our storage services instead.

Move-In and Move-Out Cleanouts

A move-out cleanout clears what you won’t take before the final walkthrough with a landlord or buyer, and it leaves less for your local movers to carry. A move-in cleanout removes what the previous owner left in the garage, basement, or shed.

Junk Removal Pricing Based on Volume

We price junk removal by volume, meaning how much space your items take up in our truck. A recliner and two bags fill a small share of the truck, while a packed two-car garage fills far more.

Two charges can add to that base price. Specialty items- the pieces that need extra crew, special equipment, or a separate disposal fee- carry an added charge. Disassembly or demolition needed before an item can be hauled is billed as added labor. Every charge appears on your quote before work starts, and sorting what stays ahead of time keeps the volume and the price lower.

How a Daymakers Junk Hauling Appointment Works

Booking starts online or by phone, and you get the price before anyone lifts a thing.

  1. Send your details. Use the quote form to list your items, add photos, and choose a preferred date, or call (715) 410-4054.
  2. Get your quote. We size the load, note any specialty items, disassembly or demolition, and give you a price before work begins.
  3. We carry, load, and haul. The crew removes the items, loads the truck, and takes everything away.

How to Prep Your Home Before the Junk Removal Crew Arrives

A little prep shortens the visit and keeps the quote accurate. These details slow a job down most when nobody planned for them.

  • Leave parking close to the door. Clear a driveway spot or note street parking limits on the form so the truck can park near the items.
  • Reserve the elevator or loading dock. Apartment and condo buildings often require a reservation and may limit hauling to set hours. Check HOA or building rules at the same time.
  • Shovel and salt the path in winter. Crews carry heavy pieces with both hands, so an icy walkway or deck stair is the biggest hazard on a cold-weather job.
  • Measure tight stairwells and doorways. The width of the narrowest turn tells us ahead of time whether a large piece needs disassembly.
  • Flag anything you’re unsure about. List questionable items on the quote form, and we tell you before the appointment whether they can go.

Appliances need the most prep. Utility disconnects belong to a plumber or gas technician, so plan them before the appointment.

ApplianceBefore the crew arrives
Refrigerator or freezerEmpty it and unplug it a day ahead so it defrosts, then wipe up the water.
WasherShut off the water supply and drain the hoses.
DryerUnplug it. A gas dryer needs its gas line shut off and capped by a qualified technician.
Gas stoveHave a qualified technician shut off and cap the gas line.
DishwasherHave the water and drain lines disconnected.
Window air conditionerTake it out of the window frame and set it on the floor.

Junk Removal Questions From Homeowners

For anything not covered here, call (715) 410-4054 and talk to our team directly.

How do you calculate the price of junk removal?

Price starts with volume, then adds any specialty item, disassembly or demolition charges. The pricing section above explains each one, and all of them appear on your written quote before the crew starts loading.

Do I need to move items to the curb or garage first?

No. Our crew carries items out from basements, upper floors, backyards, and anywhere else they sit. A clear walking path and a note on anything that stays make the visit faster.

Can you take apart furniture that won’t fit through the door?

Yes. Our crews take apart bed frames, sectionals, tables, and other pieces that won’t clear a doorway or stairwell in one piece. Disassembly is billed as added labor and listed on your quote, so you know the cost before the crew picks up a tool.

What items can’t go in the truck?

Hazardous materials need handling that a regular junk load can’t provide. Paint, solvents, chemicals, propane tanks, motor oil, and asbestos fall into this group. List anything you are unsure about on the quote form, and we'll tell you before the appointment whether it can go.

Can you clear a parent’s home before a downsizing move?

Yes. Furniture, appliances, and household junk from a downsizing home all fall within our junk removal service. If the move itself also needs a plan, our senior moving services page explains how we handle relocations for older adults.

Send your item list and a few photos, and we will return a volume quote.
