Full-Service Twin Cities Moving Company
Daymakers Moving & Storage is a locally owned team of Twin Cities movers handling home, apartment, and office moves across the metro and into western Wisconsin. Our Roseville location sits just north of St. Paul off Highway 36, with others in Bloomington, Lake Elmo, and Hudson.
Sean Higgins founded Daymakers in 2015 after a stressful move of his own. As a Twin Cities moving company that owns its trucks and employs its crews, we never hand your move to a broker or subcontractor.

What Complicates a Move Across the Metro
The seven-county Twin Cities metro covers Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington counties. The federally defined metro area also takes in St. Croix and Pierce counties in Wisconsin. Minneapolis and St. Paul share a border, but each city sets its own parking and street rules. Four factors shape a move across the metro.
- Access at both ends. A downtown loading dock, a freight elevator booked for set hours, or a narrow tree-lined street decides where the truck parks and how far the crew carries.
- Winter parking bans. A snow emergency can ban parking along entire routes, and the rules apply to moving trucks like any other vehicle.
- The calendar. End-of-month dates fill up first, and May through August is the busiest stretch. Same-day moves are available when the schedule allows.
- The state line. Hudson and River Falls are in Wisconsin, so a move there from Minnesota crosses a state line.
We account for each of these during the walkthrough before moving day.
Two Cities, Two Snow Emergency Systems
Both cities start snow emergency parking bans at 9 p.m. on the day of the declaration, then follow different rules. Minneapolis runs a three-day cycle: red-signed Snow Emergency Routes on day one, the even side of other streets from 8 a.m. on day two, and the odd side from 8 a.m. on day three. St. Paul clears Night Plow Routes first and Day Plow Routes the next morning, and Day Plow Routes have no signs. St. Paul can ticket and tow for up to 96 hours on streets not yet plowed full width.
On a January move from an Uptown apartment to a Highland Park house, a truck can be legally parked at the pickup and on the wrong side of the street at the drop-off. If an emergency is declared on or just before your moving day, tell us right away so we can place the truck at each address under the rules in effect that day. Our crews also salt walkways, lay floor protection at both doors, and plan a shorter carry when a driveway is iced over.

How Our Twin Cities Movers Price and Plan a Move
We never price a move over the phone. Every estimate follows a walkthrough, in person or by live video, where we note specialty items and anything that slows access at either address. We bill local moves by the hour, from the crew's arrival to the last item placed. Stair, long-carry, elevator-wait, and fuel charges are listed in the estimate, not added to the invoice afterward.
On moving day, the crew arrives with pads, shrink wrap, wardrobe boxes, and dollies. They protect floors and door frames before anything moves, and your belongings travel on a truck reserved for your household alone.
Moves that cross a state line, such as St. Paul to Hudson, fall under federal FMCSA rules. Daymakers is registered with FMCSA as a household goods carrier under USDOT 2593674 and MC 910104.

Recognition, Reviews, and Community Work
Great Guys Movers named Daymakers a top-three St. Paul mover in 2021 and one of the top ten movers in Minneapolis in 2022.
One customer moving from Minneapolis to Madison wrote in a Facebook review that a crew of four handled the packing, loading, and unloading and finished under the estimate. We also provide free emergency moves for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Neighborhoods, Suburbs, and Counties We Cover
We work across both core cities, from Northeast Minneapolis and Linden Hills to Summit Hill and Lowertown. Our St. Paul movers plan around the narrow staircases in older homes near Summit Avenue and the freight elevator schedules in downtown buildings.
Beyond the core cities, we serve Bloomington, Edina, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, and Plymouth in Hennepin County; Roseville, Arden Hills, Mounds View, and New Brighton in Ramsey County; Coon Rapids and Columbia Heights in Anoka County; Eagan in Dakota County; Woodbury, Lake Elmo, and Stillwater in Washington County; and Hudson and River Falls in Wisconsin.
For moves outside the metro, our long-distance moving service uses company-owned trucks and the same driver from pickup to delivery. Your shipment is never combined with another household's.
Questions About Moving Across the Twin Cities
Can one crew move me from Minneapolis to St. Paul in a single day?
In most cases, yes. The same crew and truck handle both ends, and most local moves inside the metro finish within a day. Drive time between addresses counts toward the hourly clock, so access at each end usually affects the total more than distance does. A reserved freight elevator, for example, moves faster than a third-floor walk-up with a long carry.
Do you handle office and business moves in the Twin Cities?
Yes. We handle office, retail, and warehouse relocations as part of our moving services. We can schedule commercial moves for evenings and weekends to limit downtime. Workstations, furniture, server racks, and files are tracked with an inventory system, so each item lands in the right place.
Is a move from the Twin Cities to Hudson or River Falls an interstate move?
Yes. Both towns are part of the federally defined Twin Cities metro area, but because they are in Wisconsin, the move falls under FMCSA rules. Get your estimate in writing and check whether it is binding, which fixes the price for the items and services listed, or non-binding, which can change. Daymakers has a location in Hudson on Schommer Drive.
Do you offer storage when closing dates don't line up?
Yes. We offer short- and long-term climate-controlled storage, with or without a move. Your belongings go into storage on one trip and come out on the next, so you avoid renting a separate unit and paying for a second round of lifting.
