When people ask what an experienced moving company actually does, the answer is more than “loads the truck.” A professional moving package can include packing, loading, transport, unloading, unpacking, storage, and specialty services. The right mix depends on your move, your timeline, and how much help you want.
The Core of a Full-Service Move
A full-service move means the crew handles the physical work from start to finish. That can include packing your belongings, wrapping furniture, loading the truck, driving to the new address, unloading, placing furniture, and unpacking.
This is the easiest option if you do not have time to manage the move yourself or if the job is too large to handle comfortably. It also makes sense when fragile, heavy, or high-value items are involved.
In a full-service role, your main responsibilities are to answer questions, confirm placement, and ensure the crew knows what matters most.
Packing and Unpacking as Standalone Services
You do not have to book a full-service move to get packing help. Some Lake Elmo customers pack most of the house themselves and ask us to handle only the difficult parts: dishes, glassware, artwork, fragile items, or specialty pieces.
Packing can be added for a few rooms or the whole home. Unpacking can also be added at the destination if you want the new space to be functional faster.
That can be the difference between walking into a home full of boxes and one where the kitchen, bedrooms, and main spaces are already usable.
Climate-Controlled Storage
Storage becomes useful when closing dates don’t align, a renovation runs long, or the new place isn’t ready yet. Instead of hiring a mover and a separate storage company, the whole process can stay under one plan.
We can pack and load from your home, bring everything to a climate-controlled storage facility, and deliver it when you are ready. The facility is designed to protect belongings from humidity, dust, pests, and temperature swings.
For many Lake Elmo moves, storage is the piece that keeps the timeline from falling apart.
Specialty Moves
Some items, such as ordinary furniture, should not be moved. Pianos, gun safes, heavy safes, oversized pieces, and fragile antiques need the right equipment and experience.
Piano moving, for example, depends on the type of piano, access points, stairs, and floor protection. Safe moving requires planning, as the weight alone can damage floors, walls, and doorframes if handled incorrectly.
Specialty moves can also be booked as single-item jobs. You do not need to move your entire house to get help with a single difficult piece.
Senior, Apartment, and Commercial Moving
Different moves need different approaches. Senior moves often require more patience, planning, and coordination with family members. Sentimental items need to be handled carefully, and the pace of the move matters.
Apartment moves bring their own challenges: elevators, parking rules, loading zones, tight hallways, and move-out windows.
Commercial moves are different again. Offices and warehouses need equipment, files, inventory, and furniture moved to minimize downtime.
Same-Day and Last-Minute Moving
Same-day moving may be possible, depending on the schedule. This can help if another mover cancels, a closing date changes, or a move suddenly becomes urgent.
Availability depends on the crew, trucks, and size of the job. The fastest way to know what is possible is to call and explain the situation.
How the Estimate Helps Build the Right Package
The estimate is where the moving plan comes together. We review the home in person or via live video, assess what needs to be moved, identify specialty items, and discuss packing, storage, timing, and access.
Some customers need full packing. Some only need help with fragile items. Some need storage for a few weeks. Others just need loading, transport, and unloading.
The goal is not to sell the biggest package. It is to build the right one for your Lake Elmo move.
