Get a Quote Sooner Than Later

Summer seems to be a fairly popular time of year to move. Kids are out of school, many have vacation days they could use, and it beats moving in the dead of winter. Due to the popularity of the season, it’s a good idea to plan and book your movers ahead of time. To ensure your move gets on the schedule, contact us for a free quote asap!

Pack at a Chill Pace

Don’t save your packing and organizing for the week before your move – especially if you need to pack up your garage, shed, or outdoor living spaces. Start packing and such as far in advance as you can so you can take each room and area day by day. If you see a cooler day in the summer approaching, save those days for the outdoor, sweaty jobs.

Drink Water

We’re sure you know to drink water, but it doesn’t hurt to remind you! While you’re doing house work, packing, moving things to the curb, etc., be sure to be hydrating! It’s extremely important on hot days, especially moving day. It’s also important to have a cooler filled with water for you, your family, and the movers – especially on a hot summer day.

Set Up Your New Home Before Moving Day

If it’s possible, try to set up your new home before moving day. The last thing you want to do is blast the air conditioning while setting everything up while also moving your boxes and furniture into their respective places. If you could get your refrigerator running (no, this isn’t a joke), have the walls painted, and anything else in order before you officially get there.

Look Out for the Kids & Pets

Regardless of the weather, a plan for your kids and pets should be in order before moving day. However, when it’s hot outside – it’s even more important to get prepared. If your pets are staying home, clear out a room ahead of time and leave the air conditioning or a fan on with a bowl of water. For your kids, make sure they have sunscreen, are properly hydrating, and are not spending too much time in the sun.
