Daymakers moving and storage truck

When it comes to Daymakers Moving & Storage, we can wrap, pack, and load up just about anything you want us to. However, there may be some items that you won’t want to put into the truck. Although we pride ourselves on keeping your items safe and unharmed, some things may give you a peace of mind to pack into your personal car. So, here is a list of what not to put in the moving truck!

Important Documents

Important documents such as your passport, personal files, credit cards, etc., might make you feel better to have on your person. As we mentioned before, we will keep your items safe, but it might relieve some stress if you pack them up and move them yourself.

Prized Possessions

If you own a collection of some sort, have a signed guitar from your favorite band, or even a signed baseball in a glass case – you may want to carefully move that yourself. These are items that insurance can pay for – but can’t replace. Keep your favorite prized possessions in a safe place before moving day and carefully stack them in your vehicle for moving day.

Pets

Obviously, you’re not going to pack your dog or cat into the moving truck – however, we’re mainly talking about aquariums, tanks, etc. If you own a large saltwater tank, there are many ways to pack your fish up and move them safely, along with the large glass tank. If you’re not sure how – talk to a professional to give you some tips. You also want to make sure nothing happens to the tank, filter, etc. Plus, it’s a great idea to move these types of pets ahead of time and have it set up in your new home before moving day so you don’t have to worry about that on the day of.

Electronics

The Daymakers crew has no problem moving your electronics – we actually do it all of the time, especially when we move businesses! But, if you just got a brand new iMac and a second screen, you might feel more comfortable moving it yourself. However, if you do decide to put your trust in us – we will take care of your expensive electronics as if they were our own.

Flammable or Hazardous Materials

These materials pose a significant fire hazard and Daymakers, along with other moving companies, prefer to avoid fires. Here are some that make the list:

  • Aerosol cans
  • Bleach
  • Fireworks
  • Gasoline or Kerosene
  • Matches
  • Paint
  • Pesticides
  • Propane tanks
